According to Webster, “graphology” .(n.) “The
art of judging of a person’s character, disposition,
and aptitude from his handwriting.” Funk & Wagnell
calls it “the art of interpreting character and personality
from the diagnostic peculiarities of handwriting.”
Simply stated, handwriting is a form of behavior, emanating
from all portions of the brain. The study of handwriting
can be used to determine personality traits, natural aptitudes, “motivators,” and “limiters” among
other things. It would be more accurate to call it “brain-writing” since
the brain actually controls the hand … or whatever
part of the body one is using to write with!
A trained analyst can give an accurate profile to help individuals
understand themselves and others. Compatibility Studies which
compare and contrast individuals are extremely helpful both
in personal and business circumstances.
The European masters of this science did most of their work in
the late 19th and early 20th centuries, but its earliest
origins can be traced to Socrates who stated, “You
can know a man by his mark” more than 2,000 years ago.
Many European companies utilize handwriting analysis
in their hiring process.
The odds that two writings will be identical: about 1 in
64 Trillion; that’s 1 in 64,000,000,000,000 (in other
words: virtually impossible)
In 1980, Graphology was re-classified by the Library of
Congress as “Applied Psychology.” Since then,
a rapidly growing number of individuals and businesses world-wide
have recognized its value. Graphology does not predict the
future or have any connection to the occult or paranormal.
It does help us understand who we are and why we function
as we do.
